Logo Design
What's in a Logo
So what's the visual cue that sets you apart from your competitors?
Business cards are generally your first chance to make a powerful
first impression and logo design needs to convey who you are and
what you do - visually.
Fierce Hugs, Inc. | Illustrated
by Silvia Osella. Tired of pedestrian ducks, trucks, and teddy
bears, Fierce Hugs Inc. is a baby clothing manufacturer that focuses
on cool hip prints. To boot, their apparel is 100% organic cotton
using fair labor standards, and the prints are designed by independent
artists whom they support. The company's name gives the brand
a little attitude and the fire-flame character adds whimsy. We
hired Italian artist Silvia Osella to create a fireball character
for us, then pieced together the wordmark with the character for
a complete design. The green and brown tones reflect the eco-sensibilities
of the company, reflecting their efforts in sustainable commerce.
Preventive Medicine Inc.
| A high-tech healthcare company whose clients are other healthcare
corporations. The use of the caduceus conveys their heavy association
to medicine and medical practice, with the blue and gold implying
richness and value. The 'P' overlays the 'M' with the 'I' forming
the bottom of the caduceus.
Axa Realty | The realty
company's original name was TOT, and a lower case t-o-t was used
to create the logo in the form of a house, with a zen-like flow
through it. When the name was later changed to AXA, the company's
president chose to retain the original logo design, later implemented
into its stationery system.
MN Media | A media and
advertising agency, MN Media needed an updated clean crisp logo
that could easily reproduce on a multitude of scales. Its audience
was the Vietnamese business market.
Out of Hear Inc. | A Los Angeles
based entrepreneur built his business to service the entertainment
and recording industry. Out of Hear's business rents portable
mobile sound kits that allow engineers to set up a complete sound
studio on the go by bridging a system from anywhere in the world
via ISDN lines. The logo embraces music and sound by imitating
an equalizer, using seven bars that represent the seven notes
on the musical scale. The graduation of the bars form a bridge
shape, representing the bridging nature of the company's service.
Nguyen & Associates
| An accounting firm in Ho Chi Minh City requested a design that
would appeal to the affluent Vietnamese. The script ampersand
conveyed an upper class lifestyle while the font of the design
retained a classic, not contemporary, look.
Cloud 10 | Cloud 10 represents
affordable massage therapy for the locals of Park City, a luxury
resort town. Its proprietor is a private licensed massage therapist,
focusing on providing massage not only at the local high-end spas,
but available to locals in need of some R&R. A stationery
system was also developed.
